After the massive success of Animal, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is all set to collaborate with Prabhas for his next big project, Spirit. While Deepika Padukone was initially rumored to play the female lead, recent reports suggested her exit due to alleged “unprofessional demands.” Now, the makers have officially confirmed Triptii Dimri Joining Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s “Spirit”.
Sandeep Reddy Vanga Announces Triptii Dimri as the Female Lead
On Saturday, Sandeep Reddy Vanga took to X (formerly Twitter) to make the big announcement. He shared, “The female lead for my film is now official :-)” along with Triptii’s picture. The actress reposted the announcement on her Instagram, expressing her excitement: “Still sinking in…. So grateful to be trusted with this journey Thank you @sandeepreddy.vanga ..honoured to be a part of your vision.”
Why Deepika Padukone Exited Spirit
Earlier, Deepika Padukone was in talks to star opposite Prabhas in Spirit. However, reports from Bollywood Hungama suggest that creative differences led to her exit. A source revealed, “Sandeep Reddy Vanga was taken aback when Deepika Padukone refused to shoot for more than six hours a day. Additionally, her team demanded contract revisions, including extra pay if the shoot extended beyond 100 days.”
About Spirit
Spirit marks the first on-screen pairing of Prabhas and Triptii Dimri. This will also be Triptii’s second collaboration with Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Bhushan Kumar, and Pranay Reddy Vanga after Animal. Produced by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, the film will feature Prabhas in a powerful role as a fierce police officer. Currently in pre-production, Spirit is expected to go on floors in 2025.
